GEDCO's Borehole Geophysics Team focuses on Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP). VSP consists of seismic images created by measuring seismic signal generated at the surface of the earth and recorded by geophones secured at various depths in a well bore.
The Borehole Geophysics Team offers state of the art design, acquisition QC, data processing and interpretation of VSPs.
The VSP Team can handle all forms of VSPs from simple Zero Offset VSPs , to complex Far Offset and Walk-Away VSPs, all the way up to 3D VSPs.
Primary Advantages of VSP
-
Accurately determine velocities to tie with surface seismic
-
Easily identify multiples and primaries
-
Delineate faults
-
Determine the dip of primary reflectors
-
Determine optimal Deconvolution operators
-
Correlate with well logs and surface seismic
-

-
Higher Frequency data
-
Lower Attenuation due to one-way travel times
-
