Calgary, Alberta (September 14, 2009) – GEDCO, an industry leaders in the development, support and application of geophysical software solutions, unveiled today its global software training schedule for the remainder of the 2009 calendar year.
Strategically offered in two of North America’s energy centres, namely Houston, TX and Calgary, AB, GEDCO’s upcoming public training offerings will feature introductory product usage topics aimed at enhancing the productivity and efficiency of active and potential
OMNI 3D® Seismic Survey Design & Modeling and
VISTA® 2D/3D Seismic Data Processing software users.
The introductory OMNI 3D® courses will be offered in Houston, TX on October 21 and 22 and in Calgary on November 18 and 19. In these classes, participants will increase their understanding of the many sophisticated applications found in OMNI 3D® Layout. More specifically, users will address creation and layout of surveys (Land, OBC, Streamer, and VSP), fold and statistical analysis, station editing, scripts and station attributes, status files, plot montage, 4D, and target parameters.
Held on October 19 and 20 in Houston, TX and on November 16 and 17 in Calgary, AB, the introductory VISTA® training will focus on data import, header manipulation, frequency analysis, geometry, QC statistics., creating processing flows, velocity picking and processing through brute stack.
All courses will be taught by GEDCO’s geophysical software specialists and will run on the recently released OMNI 3D® and VISTA® 9.0.

In addition to the upcoming Global Public Software Training events, GEDCO continues to offer customized private courses held at clients’ desired location and presented in English, Spanish, German, or Russian. Private courses are intended to address advanced seismic survey design and data processing topics based on the client’s area of interest and anticipated work flow.
Last year alone, GEDCO held private training sessions in the USA, Norway, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Libya, Iran, Brazil and Mexico. GEDCO is also able to offer private training sessions in its training center located in Calgary. The centre is equipped with six workstations, each equipped with dual monitors.
