GEDCO Kicks Off 2010 Global Training Program with 3D Seismic Survey Design Course Held This February in Houston, TX

Calgary, Alberta (January 8, 2010)
– GEDCO, an industry leader in the development, sale, support and application of sophisticated geophysical software solutions, is launching its 2010 Global Training Program with a 3D Land and Marine Seismic Survey Design course using OMNI 3D® on February 8, 9, 10 in Houston, TX.

As part of this three day, hands on course, participants will learn how to determine survey parameters, compare candidate survey designs and perform footprint analysis using OMNI 3D.

OMNI 3D is the industry standard for seismic survey design and modeling. Developed by geophysicists for geophysicists, OMNI 3D is used by hundreds of specialists around the globe for the planning, execution, and analysis of land, marine, transition zone, VSP, and multi-component surveys. Offered in two sophisticated packages – OMNI 3D Layout and OMNI 3D Workshop – the software offers a superior user interface and a versatile multi-project handling capability, both of which allow users to quickly and effectively analyze and monitor their seismic acquisition projects.

Jenny Hunt, Manager of Support services at GEDCO, will be teaching the course. Hunt has several years of experience using and teaching OMNI 3D.

“GEDCO develops client-driven software applications,” says Hunt. “In our training programs we emphasize practicality and strive to empower our clients to get the most from our software with the smallest possible investment of their time and effort,” she added.

GEDCO plans on returning to Houston later in the year for a Field QC course using VISTA® 2D/3D Seismic Data Processing software as well as introductory product courses. To request more information about any of these events or to propose potential dates for the Field QC event, please contact training@gedco.com.
