New Enhancements Ensure Fast and Dependable Seismic Data Processing for Growing Network of International Users
Calgary, Alberta (May 26, 2010) – In the coming weeks, GEDCO’s software solutions team will be releasing VISTA® V10 – one of the industry’s most complete 2D/3D seismic data processing packages. Following months of intense research and development, the latest version of VISTA® promises to deliver meaningful enhancements and benefits for seismic processors and geophysicists operating in the highly competitive global energy E&P sector.
VISTA®, which was first developed in the 1980’s, is renowned worldwide as a sophisticated software solution for tasks ranging from seismic acquisition quality control to full 2D, 3D and VSP data processing. VISTA® provides tools for conventional and multi-component data in land, marine, and transition zone environments.
Used on Windows and Linux platforms, VISTA® is best known for its highly intuitive interface, robust workflows, and ease of use.
Each year, GEDCO's development team releases a new product version, ensuring that users can continue to enjoy the latest and most effective seismic processing tools.
“Thanks to our daily interactions with users around the globe and ongoing access to cutting-edge university research, GEDCO’s software development and support teams continue to deliver superior product value with each new software release,” said Randy Kolesar, Manager of Software Services at GEDCO. “This year again, we incorporated much of our users' input into the new VISTA and we are confident that the final product will help users extract more quality and quantity of information from their seismic data.”
Among the new enhancements users will enjoy in VISTA® version 10 are:
- New Interactive 2D pre-stack depth migration model building window
- New Interactive seismic and well log attribute cross-plot window
- Enhanced flow and batch flow processing functionality
- Direct integration of well log data into Vista project
- Improved SEG-D data handling
- New real time seismic data set differencing display
- New SEG-Y / SEG-D disk file header and data plot browser
- Improved source/receiver station prediction functionality
- Spectral Decomposition
- New command for Alford rotations
- Tilt correction flow command for handling multi-component data rotations
- Band-pass filter in the wave-number domain
- Adjustable notch filter
To meet specific client needs, VISTA® V10 remains available in four sophisticated configurations:
Maintained software users will receive their new VISTA® V10 DVD by mail in late June along with a complete new feature and installation guide.
Public product demonstrations will be available at the EAGE in Barcelona from June 14 to 17, and the 2010 SEG in Denver from October 17 to 22. Throughout these key industry functions, GEDCO will be hosting booths where technical staff and developers will be on site to answer questions.
