John W. Peirce, Chairman & Mentor
P. Geoph. Ph.D. (Oceanography/Geophysics)

Dr. Peirce is one of GEDCO’s founding partners. He has wide-ranging interpretational experience in integrated basin analysis and the evaluation of new acreage blocks in both Canadian and international settings. He specializes in high resolution aeromagnetics, gravity/magnetics interpretation and seismic inversion. John’s international experience includes projects in Mexico, South America, Africa, Middle East, Pakistan, Russia, China, Southeast Asia and Indonesia. He is a co-author of the SEG book titled “Planning Land 3D Seismic Surveys”, published in 2000. John brings strong leadership, scientific, and teaching skills to GEDCO’s management. He is an Associate Editor for Gravity for Geophysics, and a member of APEGGA, APEGBC, CSEG, SEG, CSPG, AAPG and the WHOI Corporation (an advisory body for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution). John is also a Board member of the Gabriola Land Conservancy in British Columbia.

Andreas Cordsen, President & CEO

P. Geoph. M.Sc. (Geophysics) M.Sc. (Geology)

Andreas received a M.Sc. in Geophysics from Dalhousie University in 1980, and a M.Sc. in Geology from Queens University in 1976. He has worked with a wide range of clients on projects in many parts of Canada, South America, Mexico, Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. He is an SEG instructor for the course "Planning and Designing a Land 3D Seismic Survey," which is offered both through the SEG and privately. The course notes were published by the SEG in 2000 as a Geophysical Development No. 9 book entitled “Planning Land 3-D Seismic Surveys”, co-authored with Mike Galbraith and John Peirce. Andreas is the inventor of the Flexi-Bin(TM) 3D Design Technology, with patents granted in Canada and the United States. Mr. Cordsen is a member of APEGGA, CSEG, EAGE and SEG.

Mike Galbraith, Vice-President
P. Geoph. B.SC. Honors (Mathematics)

Mr. Galbraith, P. Geoph., has a B.Sc. Honors in Mathematical Physics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. With approximately 35 years of geophysical experience, particularly in the research and development of geophysical software, Mike brings much wisdom to his role at GEDCO. His expertise also extends to wavelet theory, signal processing algorithms, migration, 3D processing in general and the design of 3D surveys. He first developed a 3D design program in 1985.

Bob Charters, Manager, Geophysical Services

P.Geoph. M.Sc. (Geophysics)

Bob received his M.Sc. in Geophysics (1984) and his B.Sc. Honours Physics Coop (1982) from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. Having joined GEDCO in 1995, Bob presently acts as Manager, Geophysical Services where he leads a team of specialists in the areas of planning and interpreting 3D seismic surveys for both oil and mining applications, high resolution aeromagnetic survey, and integrating seismic data with gravity and magnetic data. Bob has expertise is in geophysical modeling and interpretation, AVO, multi-component seismology, and VSP technology, as well as seismic acquisition and processing.
